Aries Innovations has been developing automation for the data storage industry since 1991. Our Media Workcells support general disk handling, testing and substrate inspection. These designs are installed in almost all of the major magnetic media manufacturers and test facilities around the world. Chances are that the disks in your hard drives were tested in robotic workcells designed by our engineers.
Aries Innovations has over 15 years direct experience in developing magnetic media handling systems specifically geared for Class 10 (or better) cleanroom environments. Our world class workcells and software products integrate high-speed production, friendly user interface and advanced features such as networked data collection, machine vision part detection/audit and statistical process control.
CATC Optical Dedicated
Aries Innovations introduced the Carousel Assisted Test Cell (CATC) for media test in 1994. This revolutionary innovative system employs existing Adept One SCARA robots and assists the robot by bringing parts to the required location by a dynamic carousel. This dramatically reduces robot cycle times to 5.5 seconds on average. With software features such as "pick-ahead" enabled, cycle time as fast as 3.8 seconds have been observed in production. These amazing cycle times are achieved without stresses to existing arms, as the motion is mostly circular using the strong Adept joint 1 motor.

The DH1 Dedicated Handler is ideal for both production and engineering applications. This system interfaces to disk inspection systems, certifiers or generic spin stands for continuous testing. In production mode, it is ideal for auditing parts as they are sampled from large production runs. In engineering mode, it can ease product design by running through a complete cassette of disks or cycling continuously.
